I call Protogonos, two-natured, great
wind-striding, egg-born, fluttering golden
wings in delight, bull roaring. Begetter
of blessed ones and of mortal humans:
much remembered, often celebrated
seed—Erikepaios, ineffable
hidden whirling bright scion. You scattered
the dim mist that confounded sight, and spun
about with your wings on all sides, and to
the universe you brought bright and holy
light, and so I call you Phanes and Lord
Priapos, and the bright-eyed Antauges.
Blessed, wise, and fecund divinity,
come with joy to the initiators
of this most intricate and holy rite.
