Hear, Bakchos of the wine press, blessed son
of Zeus and two mothers, long-remembered
seed with many names, redeeming daimon.
Holy child of blessed gods, born in secret,
Bakchos Euïos, thriving and happy,
fruitful, and increasing fruit, bursting forth
from the earth, Lenaios, the many-shaped
and powerful holy flower who ends
toil and reveals the cure to mortals,
a delight that loves relief for humans,
Epaphios with fair hair, who redeems
and bears the thyrsus that drives to madness.
Roaring Euïos, kind to all, you wish
to become manifest to the mortals
and the deathless gods. I call you, now, come
to the initiates, bearing sweet fruit.
