Come, blessed Dionysos, bull-faced god,
seed of fire, Bassareus and Bakchos,
many named and almighty, you delight
in blood and swords and the holy Mainades,
roaring “Evoe” down from Olympos,
frenzied Bakchos, very wrathful, with your
spearlike thyrsus, honored by all the gods,
and mortals who dwell on earth. Come, blessed one,
and, leaping, bring much joy to everyone.
