37. For the Titans

Titans, the shining children of Gaia
and Ouranos, our fathers’ ancestors,
you dwell below the earth, in hollow caves
with homes in Tartaros, the beginning
and spring of every mortal who struggles,
and the fishes of the sea, and winged
creatures, and all those that dwell on the earth,
for every species is derived from you,
according to cosmic order. I call
upon you to send away the cruel
anger of any primal being who
approaches the homes from below the earth.
