You who guard the roots of the sea, the dark
gleaming throne, delighting in your fifty
daughters as they dance below the waves, your
lovely children. Nereus, the famous
daimon, yours is the bottom of the sea
and the limits of the earth, beginning
of all, you who shake the sacred bedrock
of Deo, when you shut up the driven
wind within hidden hollows. Blessed one,
turn away earthquakes and send wealth and peace
to worshippers, and soothing-handed health.
